Final Cut Pro 4, DVD Studio Pro 2, and Final Cut Express 2: Installer quits if you don‘t have an administrator account

The installer for Final Cut Pro 4, Final Cut Express 2, and DVD Studio Pro 2 unexpectedly quits when looking for the installation destination unless you log in with an administrator account.
Symptom

After opening the installer package, the installer quits.

Solution

Update to Final Cut Pro HD.
