If your project has missing assets, their names, and the names of any elements that use them, are red in the Assets and Outline tabs (Figure 1). This can happen if the assets are on an external hard disk that isn't turned on or connected to your Mac, for example.
Once the assets are available, their names in the Assets tab turn black, and can be relinked. If the assets don't automatically relink themselves, relink them manually using the pop-up menu in the Assets tab or by clicking on the individual element in the Outline tab to bring up the Relink dialog. Alternatively, you can close and reopen the project.
