Macintosh: Files Required to Play Audio CDs

Every time I insert an audio CD into the AppleCD attached to my Macintosh computer, a dialog appears asking if I want to initialize the CD.
You are missing one or more of the system extensions needed to play audio CDs.

With System 7.1 and later, these files must in the Extensions folder:

- Apple CD-ROM
- Audio CD Access
- Foreign File Access

The AppleCD Audio Player is an application, so it can go anywhere on your hard disk. However, if it is in the Apple Menu Items folder, you can easily access the AppleCD Audio Player from within any application.

If you have an AppleCD 600, you need to use v5.0.4 or later of the Apple CD-ROM extension.
