Video Monitors: Why Some Screens Have Squared Corners

I'm using a Macintosh SE/30 to which I added an AppleColor High-Resolution
RGB Monitor. I noticed something unusual about the monitor's display area:
all corners, except the lower left, are rounded. The lower left has a
squared (right-angle) corner. Is this a defect?

This is not a defect nor is it peculiar to the AppleColor High-Resolution
RGB Monitor -- we have seen these squared corners on other Apple and third-
party monitors. It's just cosmetic and is more likely to happen when
multiple monitors are connected to the computer.
