PowerBook Modem: Some AT Command Usage Differences From Hayes

I have noted a problem with the Macintosh PowerBook Fax/Data Modem. It appears to get confused and is unable to take a phone line "Off Hook" when a program tries to place a call. All I hear is a clicking sound.

The PowerBook Fax/Data Modem is mostly Hayes compatible; however, there are some differences with AT command usage. One command that was changed is the escape sequence. To take it "Off Hook", use +++AT<cr> without any wait delay. This is documented in the Macintosh PowerBook manual.
