Macintosh: Correcting ID -127 Internal File System Error

I have a Macintosh II running system software version 6.0.5 and AppleShare
2.0.1 as a network server.

Using the AppleShare Admin program, I tried to change a group of nested
folders from locked to unlocked. When I clicked the Locked box and
selected the Change All Enclosed Folders option, I got error ID -127. I
don't get this error message if I unlocked the folders individually.

Error ID -127 is an internal file system error. You may have a damaged
directory tree.

Here are some corrective measures to try:

- Start up the Macintosh from the System Tools Disk and run Disk First Aid
to repair any minor damage.

- Rebuild the desktop. To rebuild the desktop, press and hold the Option
and Command keys while starting up the Macintosh until you see the
message asking whether you want to rebuild the desktop.

- Reinstall the system software and the AppleShare software.
