This toolkit consists of utilities, sample code, and documentation to allow developers to incorporate the QuickTime Movie file format into their non-Macintosh applications. The utilities support popular models of computers running MS-DOS, Windows, Cray, Silicon Graphics, Sun, DEC, and IBM computers.
For example, a user creating an animation in MS-DOS will have the option of converting that animation to a QuickTime movie. The animation can then be shared with Macintosh users over a network or via floppy disk, but only played back on a Macintosh.
