StyleWriter: Apple vs. Third-Party Ink Cartridge (1/95)

I have been using standard Canon ink cartridges with my StyleWriter printer. An Apple technician told me that using non-Apple StyleWriter Ink Cartridges voids Apple's warranty on the StyleWriter.

Is this true?

Apple StyleWriter Ink Cartridges (M8041G/B) are made by Canon for Apple and meet Apple's rigid specifications.

Physical damage to the printer caused by the use of a third-party printhead cartridge or ink refill kits that DO NOT meet Apple's rigid standards WILL void the warranty.

Although not supported by Apple, the use of Canon, third-party cartridges, or ink refill kits that meet the rigid specifications WILL NOT void the Apple warranty. For best print quality, Apple recommends using the Apple StyleWriter Ink Cartridges for the orignal StyleWriter and StyleWriter II.
