Personal LaserWriter: No Refurbishment Kit

Why doesn't Apple offer a refurbishment kit for the Personal LaserWriter
printers?

The Personal LaserWriter engine life is rated at a minimum of 150,000
pages. The pick-up roller and separation pad each have a minimum rated
life of 50,000 pages. However, since most users use the cassette tray,
these parts will most likely last well beyond their 50,000-page rating.
Also, the fuser assembly, laser scanner assembly, and other moving parts
are expected to last the life of the engine. Therefore, there is no need
for a refurbishment kit.

The LaserWriter and LaserWriter II engines have engine-life ratings that
exceed the working life of several of their major modules (such as the
fuser, cassette pick-up assembly, and transfer guide assembly). Therefore,
refurbishment programs were created to ensure that proper maintenance is
performed at the proper intervals.
