Can the Macintosh LC II support the Apple Macintosh Portrait Display, Macintosh
16" Color Display, Apple 21-inch Two-Page Monochrome Monitor, or the
Macintosh 21" Color Display?

The Apple Macintosh Portrait Display, Macintosh 16" Color Display,
Apple 21-inch Two-Page Monochrome Monitor, and the Macintosh 21" Color Display
are not directly supported on the Macintosh LC II.

Like the Macintosh LC, Macintosh LC II supports four different resolutions:
- 512 x 384
- 640 x 480
- 560 x 384 (Apple II resolution)
- VGA

The Apple Macintosh Portrait Display resolution is 870 x 640.
The Macintosh 16" Color Display resolution is 832 x 624.
The resolution on the 21-inch displays is 1152 x 870.

The Macintosh LC II on-board video is the same as the LC. The Macintosh
LC II supports 256 colors on the 12-inch, and 16 colors on the 13-inch
monitor.

There are third-party products that can provide the Macintosh LC and LC II
with the capability of driving the larger monitors. Two such companies are
Lapis and Aura Systems. You can find more information on these companies
by searching on their names in the Technical Information Library and in the
Redgate Products Library.
