In the case of 4MB soldered on the printed circuit board (PCB), you need an
8MB RAM expansion kit to get 10MB. This configuration has 12MB of RAM
present in the system. However, the Memory Map reserves only the first
10MB of address space for RAM. Therefore, the lower 2MB on the PCB can't
be accessed when a 4MB base system is fully expanded. Even though, 32-bit
addressing allows up to 1GB address space for RAM, there are only 24
address lines. Hence Macintosh LC II can see only 10MB of physical RAM.
