I have AMP's Thinnet tap system for Thinwire Ethernet.  AMP uses a special <BR>
vampire-style plug in the wall and a cable running to the user's <BR>
workstation that plugs into the coax port on the interface card.<BR>
<BR>
We had a problem with FriendlyNet.  Since we have two ends, we either get <BR>
too many terminations on the network (two existing plus one automatic from <BR>
the transceiver), or reflections (if we open one end up by using a barrel<BR>
connector).  Neither case led to a healthy network.<BR>

You need to use a 222814-1 Test Cable Assembly. &nbsp;This device provides two <BR>
coax cables that plug into either side of the FriendlyNet transceiver. &nbsp;AMP <BR>
is 802.3 compliant (the run from the faceplate to the user contains both <BR>
&quot;ends&quot; of the network).<BR>
